Every gift to Marquardt Foundation makes a difference in the lives of our residents and those we serve in the community through home health, hospice, and lifeline. A gift of any amount can be designated to the following needs identified by staff, residents, and volunteers.
Staff Training Equipment. As a long-term care center, Marquardt Village must be prepared to provide acute, intensive treatments today - a level of care available only at acute care hospitals in the past. The following equipment is not covered by Medicare or other insurance.
Devotional and Bible Story CDs for hospice gift baskets. CDs are appreciated as many enjoy listening to soothing prayers and devotionals. Approximately $300.
Benches for Walking Paths. Five have been purchased; 20 more are needed to be placed along sidewalks, creating spots to rest and reflect or chat with neighbors. $800 each.
iPods, New or Gently Used. 175 iPods for our residents receiving assisted living, memory care or skilled care. Staff members help residents find their favorites. We can only accept the iPod brand, and preferably iPod shuffles. $50 each.
Raised Garden Beds. Two have been purchased; 6 more are needed so that residents can enjoy gardening without the stress of bending and kneeling. $450 each.
Automated External Defibrillators. Cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in the United States. Four AEDs have been purchased thanks to our board members and staff. Six more are needed for key locations on campus. $1,500 each.
Items for Resident Auctions. Residents earn “auction dollars” at events throughout the year and use it to bid on items such as postage stamps, snacks and holiday decorations at live auctions organized by activities staff. It’s a favorite resident activity! Approximately $400.
